PCS called in after lithium battery fire leaves Perth home toxic

9 News - July 2026

When two lithium batteries ignited on a Perth family's patio, the fire didn't just destroy the house, it left it contaminated with heavy metals, including arsenic and chromium, along with hydrofluoric acid released from the home's surfaces.

PCS's team was called in to sample the property and identify what months of insurance-led assessment had missed.

See how PCS's hazardous waste sampling services help identify contaminants that aren't always obvious after a fire.
